Plain-English summary: Zuna collects only what is needed to match you with colleagues for a recurring daily commute. We never sell your data. Location is only shared with your active commute group, and only on your commute days. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Zuna ("Zuna", "we", "us", "our") is a commute-sharing platform operated for IT professionals in India. Our registered contact address is zuna.official.team@gmail.com.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Zuna mobile application (Android and iOS), the Zuna website, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum data required to operate a safe, recurring commute-sharing service.

What we do not collect: We do not collect your UPI ID, bank account details, Aadhaar number, PAN, or any financial credentials. UPI payments happen directly between users through your payment app β€” Zuna only records whether a payment was confirmed by both parties.

How we use your data

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we do not run ads within the Zuna app.

Location data

Location is the most sensitive data we handle, so we are explicit about how it works:

Permission required: Live commute tracking requires you to grant the app location permission. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings. If revoked, the live map feature will not work during commutes, but all other app features remain available.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

Data retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

Commute history & payment records 12 months from the commute date, then anonymised
Group chat messages 90 days from the date sent

When your account is deleted, all personally identifiable information is removed within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data (e.g., number of commutes completed in a corridor) may be retained indefinitely for service analytics and does not identify you.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

Children's privacy

Zuna is designed for working IT professionals and is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has registered an account, we will delete that account and all associated data promptly. If you believe a minor is using the Service, please contact us at zuna.official.team@gmail.com.

Delete your account from Profile β†’ Account β†’ Delete Account. All personal data is purged within 30 days.

Revoke location permission via your device settings at any time. Close or leave commute groups to stop sharing your profile with group members.

Request an export of your commute history and payment records in a machine-readable format.

Ask us to restrict processing of your data in specific circumstances while a complaint or concern is being investigated.

We will respond to all valid requests within 15 business days. There is no fee to exercise your rights.
